Re-imagining Tradie Alley: Rebranding Project

Tradie Alley Rebranding done by Tailwind Marketing and Design Agency Based in Upper Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand

This project was a lot of fun. The team at Tradie Alley were looking for a fresh approach to their existing brand that they had created themselves.

The name and logo were a visual pun: a street sign representing an ‘Alley' as a soundalike for ‘Ali' (short for Alison, owner of Tradie Alley). But the overly-literal interpretation was not functional and holding the company back.

Our new brand design took inspiration from the original and re-imaged it with reference to vintage street sign typography and retaining a sense of a junction and three-dimensionality. The green colour palette was retained and expanded with a warm orange, as well as the creation of a range of brand statement badges to communicate effectively to a target audience of trade businesses.

The end result is a really fun and expressive brand that tells a story of getting in there and helping make sense of the back-office madness that tradies face on a daily basis.
